“A ravishing, ravaging, riveting meisterwerk of a debut album”
The powerhouse follow-up to Levinsky’s 2018’s underground cult EP “Method To The Madness” features eleven new tracks. Inspired by pioneering artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Kate Bush, John Carpenter, Goblin and Vangelis, the uncompromising Finnish electronic artist treats us to an ambitious “post-synthwave” album brimming with cinematic moods, progressive musical flair and strikingly memorable themes. The album addresses intriguing, emotive and provocative subjects, guaranteed to provide the listener with food for thought.
Levinsky has a number of live performances under his belt and in addition to Finnish dates lining up for the remainder of the year, he’s expecting to play his first show on foreign soil still in 2019. That said, he has already been confirmed for a festival appearance in London for 2020.
The digital album release will be followed by limited edition vinyl and cassette.
Mastering by Juha Petteri Falck. Artwork by Ninni Kairisalo (https://kaligraphics.fi).
Levinsky is the Finnish harbinger of distinctly cinematic and dark synthwave. His style is regarded unique in the Finnish scene, gaining a steady and organic supporter base around the world. His fans know that he always has something to say with his music and themes that are always close to his heart. He also interacts closely with his fans and truly values their support and recognition.
He is inspired by classic horror, thriller and sci-fi movies as well as literature and is an ardent fan of classic Italian “giallo” movies such as Dario Argento’s Tenebre and Suspiria. Musically, he draws a lot of inspiration from great classic artists such as Kate Bush (whom he reportedly worships!), Jean Michel Jarre, John Carpenter, Goblin and Vangelis while holding dear a handpicked selection of modern day acts such as Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Zombi and even Daft Punk. He does not shun drawing influence and musical growth from outside the genre and does experiment with his sound accordingly.
