Leifendeth releases infectious new EP ‘Pandemic’
Canadian industrial/synthwave project Leifendeth has released a new 4-track EP titled ‘Pandemic.’ The EP features the title track, a thumping techno-industrial anthem with dark-yet-catchy lyrics evoking apocalyptic imagery and themes of science gone wrong. Next up are two guest remixes of the popular darksynth track ‘Lost Future,’ one by Melodywhore and the other
by Cyber Shaman. The final track on the EP provides an alternate instrumental take on ‘Pandemic’ with some subtle differences noticeable to keen listeners.
Leifendeth provides some backstory to the EP’s concept in the release description: “After the catastrophic event known as “Incident Zero,” the L-virus has spread to almost every corner of the globe. Cities and the surrounding areas are not safe – Even the air isn’t safe to breathe anymore.” Leifendeth paints a bleak yet intriguing portrait of a not-too-distant future where survival is easier said than done.
‘Pandemic’ is a precursor to the next full-length Leifendeth album ‘Distorted Transmission 2’ which is slated for release in early 2020. ‘Distorted Transmission 2’ will be a direct sequel to 2018’s ‘Distorted Transmission 1: Lifeline’.
The ‘Pandemic’ EP was released digitally to Bandcamp on November 29, 2019.
